AMPAC Fine Chemicals, an SK pharmteco company, announced today a donation of nearly $200,000 worth of hand sanitizer to local organizations in California, Texas and Virginia to support the fight against the spread of COVID-19.

AMPAC Fine Chemicals employees delivered more than 90,000 bottles, or over 1.5 million ounces, of hand sanitizer to 20 organizations across the three states. They include the Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, CA; Orangevale Food Bank in Orangevale, CA; Folsom Police and Fire Departments in Folsom, CA; the LaPorte - Bayshore Chamber of Commerce, the LaPorte Independent School District Support Services Center and Today’s Harbor for Children in LaPorte, TX; and the Petersburg Fire Administration in Petersburg, VA. This effort will continue on an ongoing basis.

“SK pharmteco is committed to supporting the communities where our businesses operate and our employees live,” said Dr. Aslam Malik, CEO of SK pharmteco “We are proud to do our part to protect the health and safety of these communities and to support the difficult battle against COVID-19 being fought in America and around the world.”

“Today your partnership is more important than ever and will keep our heroic front line caregivers safe, so that they can continue providing the very best care to our families, friends and neighbors,” said Kevin Duggan, VP of Philanthropy, Dignity Health Greater Sacramento Division. “You are making a difference at a time when communities must come together to provide prevention, health and recovery.”

AMPAC Fine Chemicals, a leading maker of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and chemical compounds for medicines, has facilities in Rancho Cordova, CA, La Porte, TX and Petersburg, VA. The company was acquired in 2018 by SK Holdings. In 2019, SK Holdings established the global headquarters for SK pharmteco in the Sacramento area, bringing together the pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities of AMPAC Fine Chemicals in the U.S. and SK biotek in Ireland and South Korea.

The donation is part of ongoing work that SK Group companies are doing to help support COVID-19 mitigation and recovery across the United States. In June, SK Group announced that its companies had pledged more than $1 million in contributions to help communities across the United States deal with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of their core business operating principles, SK Group companies strive to create positive economic and social value for the communities where they operate and society as a whole.
