September 23 | SK global chemical enters PACK EXPO 2019

SK global chemical entered the PACK EXPO 2019 held in Las Vegas, USA on September 23 in a bid to expand its global market presence. SK global chemical chose ‘One-stop Packaging Solution’ as the theme for its expo entry. The one-stop packaging solution signifies the commitment of SK global chemical to deliver one-stop solutions from its core packaging materials and differentiated to varying customer needs. SK global chemical exhibited a multi-layer film and six film resin products, among other materials. High-value packaging materials such as PrimacorTM (EAA) and SARANTM (PVDC) were also added to the exhibition. The SK global chemical booth layout was designed with a focus on its next-generation flagship product lineups. The expo venue was visited by the leadership of SK global chemical including President & CEO Na Kyeong-Soo who looked around the booths of other leading packaging vendors and met with major customers to expand its customer base.

September 24 | SK telecom showcases 'Happy Community' AI-enabled Care Services' in an International Summit

The ‘Happy Community AI-enabled Care Services’ launched by SK telecom to care for the elderly living alone was well received in an international summit. SK telecom joined the Winning Together: Sustainability in Action event jointly hosted by Korea, Denmark, P4G, and other organizations as a sequel to the UN General Assembly on September 24, and showcased the Happy Community AI-enabled Care Services. The event was attended by over 350 people including representatives of the Korean government, delegations of 9 foreign governments including Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen of Denmark, global investors among others. SK telecom explained and promoted to the global audience its sustainability initiatives such as the Happy Community AI-enabled Care Services and the Happy Coding Class for the Physically-challenged Youth.

September 24 | SK broadband joins ‘SD-WAN SUMMIT 2019’ conference in France

SK broadband participated in the ‘SD-WAN SUMMIT 2019’ conference held in Paris, France from September 24 to 26 showcasing virtual security terminal converging 5G and virtualization technology, SD-LAN (Software Defined-Local Area Network) technology, etc. The technologies demonstrated during the conference added a 5G WAN port to a conventional wired WAN port to maintain network connectivity through 5G mobile communications platform even when wired communications connectivity fails. SK broadband also featured SD-LAN technology that uses SDN (Software Defined Network) to enable even non-expert customers to control a range of complex networks from a central locale. Director Park Chan-Woong of SK broadband in charge of the infrastructure division commented, “Our entry in the conference carries significance in that it allows SK broadband to promote a network service model and a next-generation network control technology enabled by Korea’s advanced 5G communications technology to the global audience,” and added, “SK will join hands with Korean SMEs in further developing relevant technologies thereby beefing up the global competitiveness of Korean network industry.”

October 1 | SK innovation launches ‘I Green We Green Vietnam’ campaign

SK innovation launched the ‘I Green We Green Vietnam (IGWG Vietnam)’ campaign in Xuan Thuy national park of Xuan Truong District, Nam Dinh Province, Vietnam. The event was honored by the attendance of 50+ distinguished guests including representatives of the Vietnamese and Korean governments, local business and academic communities. It was also attended by SK innovation people and representatives of social enterprises and ventures active in the environmental domain and supported by SK innovation. The event was opened by the congratulatory speeches of Science, Technology, Information & Communications Attache Shin Sang-Yeol and Vice President Hoang Ngoc Trung of PVEP followed by the welcoming remarks of PR office director Lim Soo-Gil of SK innovation who commented on the significance and purpose of the campaign. SK innovation showcased the IGWG Vietnam campaign in a video clip. The attendees representing participating organizations and corporations affixed their signatures to a plaque designed after mangrove and hung it to a tree as an affirmation of their commitment to the campaign. At the end of the event, all attendees planted 500+ mangrove seedlings in a vacant lot near the event venue in Xuan Thuy national park.
