LAS VEGAS / SEOUL, December 28, 2022 - SK Signet, a top global manufacturer of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, will unveil ‘V2,’ its new ultra-fast EV charger, at CES 2023.

The V2 will be the first ultra-fast charger produced in the U.S. at SK Signet’s Texas plant and will align with the goals of the Infrastructure Investment and the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program. SK Signet's Texas plant is capable of producing more than 10,000 units per year and pilot operation is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2023.

The V2 enables a more reliable and faster charging experience due to the improved efficiency of the power module, a key component of an EV charger. Additionally, the new modular design of the charger’s major parts creates a timelier and cost-effective production process, maximizing efficiency for charging station operators. The new chargers are also equipped with a large 32-inch display, which can be operated from multiple accessible positions, to provide additional business opportunities for charging station operators.

For consumers, the V2 is equipped with a battery diagnosis function, jointly developed with SK On, that allows the user to check the condition of their EV battery while charging. Additional product features have been updated to create a more convenient experience for users. The new design includes a banner at the upper part of the charger that serves as an indicator allowing customers to check the usage status of the charger even from a distance.

“The new V2 charger, boasting improved performance and maintained by top-tier customer-service support, will help SK Signet continue to position ourselves as a global leader in EV charging solutions,” said Jung Ho Shin, CEO of SK Signet. “As a key player in achieving SK Group’s goal of net zero, SK Signet will strive to create easily adoptable and accessible solutions that support the growth of the electrification ecosystem for decarbonization.”

At CES, under the theme of 'Action' (Together in action), SK Group's integrated exhibition booth will be designed to allow visitors to directly experience the group’s net-zero technology and its application to everyday lives. SK Signet's new ultra-fast charger V2 will be displayed at the ‘Clean Mobility’ zone, the first section of the exhibition booth, and the story of the entire exhibition video will begin with charging. SK Signet will also deliver detailed information on V2 products through a media conference in Las Vegas on January 5th.
