Lowering emissions and fighting the impact of climate change with smart glass that drives up the energy efficiency of commercial buildings. That’s the sustainable breakthrough developed by HALIO, a California-based maker of auto-tinting glass.
HALIO’s smart glass saves commercial buildings up to 22% of their energy consumption. These savings align with SK’s ambition to reduce carbon emissions by 200 million tons in 2030.
The transition to smart glass is just starting, explains HALIO CEO Bruce Sohn. He points out that over a billion square feet of glass are sold annually worldwide, but “well, less than a million square feet have smart technology.”
Across multiple industries, SK invests in sustainable breakthroughs, like HALIO and its smart glass technology. As an investor, SK works closely with its partners, connecting them to new markets and forging pathways to scale up their solutions.
