In Georgia, SK On is expanding its workforce and ramping up the production of EV batteries

SK On has exceeded its hiring goal of 2,600 employees at its two EV battery manufacturing facilities in Commerce, Ga., and is on track to reach 3,000 workers over the next year.

With more EVs sold worldwide each week than in 2012, the expanding workforce in Commerce will help meet this ever-growing demand. Fully operational, Commerce’s two plants will have the capacity to supply more than 300,000 EVs annually.

Outside Georgia, SK On also plans to invest about $4.5 billion in facilities in Kentucky and Tennessee as part of SK’s BlueOval joint venture with Ford.

SK On’s Commerce expansion is integral to SK’s growing U.S. investments. SK has committed to investing more than $50 billion by 2025 and increasing its headcount across its different operating companies to 20,000 employees. These investments will focus on clean energy and sustainable solutions like the EV batteries manufactured by SK On in Georgia.
