SK Signet: Transforming Transportation by Fast-Charging EVs

Manufactured in Texas, SK Signet’s fast-charging stations will support America’s transition to all-electric vehicles

Driving the transition from traditional internal combustion engines in favor of electric vehicles (EVs) will be our ability to recharge batteries quickly. That’s the challenge SK Signet is committed to meeting by manufacturing ultra-fast charging stations at its first U.S. plant in Plano, Texas.

SK Signet’s Texas facility will meet the standards of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program. NEVI aims to create a nationwide network of EV charging stations every 50 miles along the interstate highway system or within a mile of an interstate exit.

SK Signet anticipates that by the summer of 2023, its new Plano plant will have the capacity to manufacture 10,000 fast chargers. Over the next three years, the plant is also projected to create more than 180 highly-skilled jobs.

SK Signet’s Texas investment builds on SK’s ongoing U.S. expansion, where it plans to invest more than $50 billion by 2025 and increase headcount across its different operating companies to 20,000 employees.
