SK Siltron CSS welcomed President Joe Biden to our newest production plant in Bay City, Michigan, to tour the facility and talk with some of the CSS employees. The president’s visit celebrated the passage of the CHIPs and Science Act – designed to boost American semiconductor research, development, and production – and highlighted CSS’s role in creating highly skilled U.S. manufacturing jobs.

In addition to President Biden, Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Rep. Dan Kildee joined the tour, led by SK Siltron CSS CEO Jianwei Dong, where they learned firsthand from CSS workers about the silicon carbide wafers produced on site.

In his remarks, President Biden praised SK, saying “They’re a first-rate operation, and they’re going to create a lot of good-paying jobs in America.”
