July 30 | SK strengthens its measurement standard development function through CSES

SK is stepping up its efforts to build a social value measurement system in cooperation with China’s State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) and Germany’s BASF as well as domestic public corporations, public agencies, and social enterprises. The standardization work is driven by Chairman Chey Tae-won’s belief that ‘what is measurable is manageable, so evolution and development are possible.’ On July 30, the Center for Social Value Enhancement Studies (CSES) which is SK’s non-profit research foundation, held an opening ceremony after being moved to a larger facility. Chairman Chey said here, “We launched CSES since social values need to be measured prior to systematically dealing with social issues.”

Chairman Chey Tae-won provided happy talks with leaders from SK hynix

In July, Chairman Chey Tae-won provided happy talks with leaders from SK hynix at its Icheon campus on the 24th and 26th and its Cheongju campus on the 25th, and then with leaders from SK telecom on the 30th. Chairman Chey stressed out at the talks, “SK People’s commitment is the most important thing to create a happy world.” “To make SK People happy, leaders need to encourage followers to actively participate in the happy talks” he added. Leaders attending the talks discussed how to run the happy talks with followers.”

July 31 | SK telecom chosen as a 5G Leader in Asia from American IT analyst firm

SK telecom was selected as a 5G communication leader in Asia by an American IT analyst firm. On July 31, Moor Insights and Strategy announced companies leading 5G in categories such as global telecom operators, smartphone makers, and equipment companies in Forbes, an American economic media. Analyst at Moor Insights and Strategy Will Townsend said SK telecom has built a 5G infrastructure nationwide and is actively collaborating with various partners to develop 5G-based B2C and B2B services.”

July 31 | 2019 Icheon Forum - Scientific Innovation Subforum

The 2019 Icheon Forum - Scientific Innovation Subforum were held at Grand Walkerhill Seoul on July 31. Under the theme Discussion with Masters: New Vision for Scientific Innovation, SK People and prominent world-class scholars gathered together and shared their expertise on state-of-the-art scientific technology to reinforce the ability to merge scientific and technological innovations into business. The main forum of the 2019 Icheon Forum will be held for four days from August 19 to 22. At the main forum to be held in August, we will set a common goal for SK and shape action plans based on results and findings from the subforums.
